Public Policy Director

The National Alliance to Advance Adolescent Health is seeking a qualified individual to take a leadership role in the development and implementation of its public policy activities. Responsibilities include monitoring federal legislative and administrative policies; preparing comments and other position statements; developing policy proposals related to health care delivery, payment, and training; and building a partnership of national organizations and adolescent health centers to achieve better health outcomes for low income and minority adolescents.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in policy analysis and legislative affairs and have a degree in law, public health, or public policy. Knowledge of Medicaid, CHIP, and health reform is essential. Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills; creativity and leadership; knowledge of the legislative process; knowledge of health issues affecting low-income and minority youth; and excellent written and verbal skills required. Qualified minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Part-time position will be considered.

Health Policy Analyst

The National Alliance to Advance Adolescent Health is seeking a health policy analyst to conduct research and policy analysis on Medicaid and CHIP, ACA, and the delivery and financing of interdisciplinary models of care for low income and minority adolescents. Responsibilities include analysis of selected national health surveys; review and analysis of federal and state policies related to Medicaid, ACA, and other financing issues; key informant interviews and site visits; preparation of reports and journal articles for a national audience; and generation of new ideas to further our mission to advance adolescent health.

Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of experience in health policy analysis and a Master's degree in public policy or related field. A working familiarity with statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS, or STATA is desired. Strong analytic, organizational, interpersonal skills, and excellent writing and communication skills are all required. Candidates should also be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
