The National Alliance to
Advance Adolescent Health was formed to provide education, research,
policy analysis, and technical assistance to support fundamental
improvements in the way that adolescent health care is structured
and financed.
Our mission is to enhance the
physical and emotional well-being of adolescents, especially low-income
and minority adolescents, by promoting access to comprehensive,
interdisciplinary physical, behavioral, and reproductive health
care. The National Alliance supports models of care that incorporate
a positive youth development philosophy and operate in collaboration
with schools and community-based health promotion initiatives.
We also seek to ensure that all adolescents have insurance for
the services they require. Central to our vision is a holistic
approach to care that is responsive to the unique needs of adolescents
from various ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. Harriette
Fox and Margaret McManus are the CEO and president of the National
Alliance to Advance Adolescent Health.
